It's not the time zones, it's that they change twice a year. Add to that, at least one state that doesn't change, and it can suddenly become confusing. DST is antiquated and just needs to be done away with.

As a general rule, almost every talk at every meeting, and every prayer is this way, although some speakers are definitely worse than others.(every once in a while, you get a great speaker that's easy and enjoyable to listen to) The exception being the bible reading at the theocratic ministry school (and what is up with that?! Just read the verses, no review of what's read or summary from the speaker. Don't learn how to engage your audience, just read...?)
Obviously they have a timeslot to fill, and you can only talk so long about a subject until it starts to become repetitive and dissected to death. This has always been one of my issues with the religion. It's so freaking repetitive! I mean, if you eat at a restaurant 3 times a week, every month, for a year, and they only serve 8 different dishes, and every once in a while, the cook does an amazing job preparing the meal, but the majority of the time, the meals are bland, and you can't leave until you clean your plate, after which you have to hear a long drawn out explanation from the owner about how great his food is, and how thankful he is for his restaurant, staff, food, patrons, liscensing, health inspectors, FDA, food truck delivery, table cloths, silverware, napkins, grandma for the recipes, the building, the heat, the A/C, and on and on... And finally, when he's finished, you've got to navigate a sea of other patrons who want to converse about how great their meal was. I bet you don't eat there often, if ever again...
It gets old and repetitive. I'll never forget, after being gone for over 12 years, with the exception of some minor "new light", it was like I never left. The same exact meals being served. Yes its dressed up in a bit fancier packaging, with the new songs, flat screens, video presentations, and of course, JW.org, but it's the same meal, regurgitated. And when you finally peek behind the curtain and see how dirty the kitchen is, you realize why you should never go again, relieved to be free to choose for yourself.

Almost perfect!
by The Fall Guy inafter a cruise-ship suffers a terrible shipwreck, the famous beauty and actress scarlett johansson finds herself alone on a deserted island.
hours pass, and eventually only one other person makes it to the island to join her - a man.. they didn't know each other before the shipwreck, but he of course knew of her due to her beauty & fame.. at the beginning it was hard, but as time passed, this guy learned how to provide food and shelter and started taking care of her.
she took care of him in return, and eventually she started to really feel a bond with the guy.

...um every guy has his preferences, Scarlett, for most is a beauty, but tastes vary. Plug your own preferred famous beauty into the joke and go...
Salma Hayek for me! 😁

Should illegal immigrants be sent “Only” to Sanctuary Cities?
by I believe in overlapping inpro-illegal immigration advocates are fighting president trump’s efforts to keep illegal immigrants out of the united states.
trump wants immigrants to enter the usa legally and in a controlled manner so as not to tax the local economies of their resources that will burden the local law abiding citizens.
“pro illegal immigrant’s advocates insist that illegal immigrants are overwhelmingly good people fleeing bad circumstances in poverty-stricken, gang-ridden or war-torn countries.

Loveuni, yes, they should be deported. That's what common sense tells us to do, unfortunately not everyone possesses common sense...

What's the point?
by Incognigo Montoya init has always baffled me, if earth and it's inhabitants, are god's sole sentient creation (aside from the angel's and demons) along with the animal life, why create such a vast galaxy, along with billions of other galaxies, with their trillions of stars and planets, etc.
what's the point?
our galaxy surely would've been enough, in a great void of blackness.

For the record, I am agnostic, at least for the moment. Primarily because I just dont have the time, or feel an overwhelming need to dive into whether god exists or not. I am aware of arguments for both sides. I spent my youth, in fact the majority of my life, believing in a creator, only to have recently discovered that the religion I was raised in, is a sham.(as have you all, here) So now I question everything. At some point I will do my own research and come to my own conclusions. My initial question was somewhat a rhetorical one, though I was interested in everyone's thoughts. I just remember, even as a child, and a believer, pondering my initial question and subsequent thoughts; What is the point of god creating all of those galaxies, if there is no other life but ours? The probability that there is more life out there is problematic to Christianity.. it is a conundrum of sorts.

What's the point? Our galaxy surely would've been enough, in a great void of blackness. If there is other life out there, wouldn't it too have to have been created by God? And then, if so, doesn't that complicate his "plan" and the question of sovereignty, raised by Satan? I could go on with the premise and theories, but ultimately, any life outside of our world would completely change the premise upon which christianity is founded. If there isn't, why go to such elaborate lengths to create so much?

Can you be disfellowshipped for getting abducted by Dogman / Bigfoot / Aliens?
by John_Carter_1912 inin episode 213 of "dogman encounters" jehovah's witness valerie grogan tells accounts of her, her mother, and her brother coming in contact with the dogman.. for those of you that don't know, the dogman is a werewolf-type humanoid creature.
there are about 7 different types of them and vic cundiff has over 243 episodes of long interviews with people that have been in contact with them.. around the 4:45 mark, she says that her mother kept telling the elders that the creatures was out there but that the elders kept saying their whole family was demon-possessed and that they would disfellowship them.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6ncvszwzue.

I'm sure, if the witness insisted on belief in them, and telling their story, repeatedly, they would be admonished, disciplined, and eventually Df'd if they continued. As to Bigfoot, dogman, and other humanoid creatures reported to be running the Woodlands and back country, where are their carcasses, remains, skeletons? If they existed, someone would've found one by now.
Alien life forms... that's one that's possible, even probable, since we haven't even scratched the surface of our galaxy, let alone the universe.

From experience with this exact thing; he is torn. Torn between his feelings for you and everything he was ever taught by his family. He fears disappointing them, as well as being disciplined and shunned. Right now he is in self preservation mode. Reality has struck and he is trying to save himself. He more than likely, believes that if he is disfellowshipped, his actual life is on the line, if armageddon were to come, before he is reinstated. He is in fear for the only life he has known. Yet, if he does truly love you, he's going to start missing you, and try to reinstate contact with you, probably sooner than later (if he hasn't already) This is a rollercoaster that can last for years. Are you willing to go through that for him, even if you might not end up together, in the end? My best advice to you is, be strong. Let him know you love him no matter what, but if he won't choose you, over his family, you're gone, for good. Period! And mean it.
Truth is, He can still choose you, marry you, and remain a witness (as long as you're ok with that. I recommend you do extensive research into what that would mean for you and any children you two may have) He will just have to make sacrifices, which he will do, if he truly loves you. You need to be willing to live your life, with or without him.
